Product Overview

Telecommunications and Precision measuring equipment require high precision timing (sub micro second unit), in order to acquire valid remote data and process data reliably. Therefore, users relied heavily on GPS for processing precision timing, and materialized it through Ethernet network.

As a relation between Ethernet networks, IEEE 1588v2 PTP (Precision Time Control) is set as technology to process high precision time synchronization, and correct errors within the network. This technology operates GrandMaster equipment as a main, and synchronizes it to slave module, which is inside a receiver, that requires time synchronization.

This product is GrandMaster equipment that provides precision timing and frequency to slave modules that users are equipped with. This product provide dualizing function as a preparation for network instability by supporting alternative master function, and is equipped with function to transfer GNSS synchronized clock through ESMC (Ethernet Synchronization Messaging Channel) in order to synchronize with SyncE equipment.

Edge Master IS2000 at Small Cell Network

Purpose of this product is to provide synchronized precision time and frequency to 4G/LTE small cell network at an economical price

Product Description

  • Dualization for stable network

Carrier class network requires protection clock for stable management. Through optimized Master Clock Algorithm embodied by IEEE1588v2, this product makes reliable operation possible in network and main equipment. Primarily, slave equipment selects Grand Master by QL value, and then selects Grand Master under standard of G.8275.1 and G.8265.1, which is designed to protect equipment, and make reliable operations possible.
  • Hybrid mode

This product synchronizes Frequency, Phase and ToD (Time of Day) separately. Frequency is synchronized on physical layer, and Phase and ToD synchronization is separated from PTP. Such hybrid mode solves problems from populated network hubs, and provides high degree of time precision.
  • Mixed-mode PTP communication

As a default, ITU-T G.8265.1 suggests Unicast PTP method, but Mixed-mode PTP method can be used as an option to decrease heavy network load. Mixed-mode PTP is a mixture of Multicast downstream (Sync, Announce), and Unicast (Del_Req, Del_Res).This product provides all communication methods listed below:
    • Unicast Mode
    • Multicast Mode
    • Mixed Mode
